About the artist
My love of art has grown out of the passion I have for colour, pattern and flowers. Pushing myself to create bold and exciting designs is something I thrive on.
I'm always striving to produce the perfect piece of art. It helps keep my designs fresh, and in turn means my portfolio is always evolving.
My biggest inspiration was my Gran. She was a real character. I have lots of happy childhood memories of the time we spent painting together. In the beginning I thought we were both creating masterpieces, a fact she was always happy to confirm. When I found out the truth it didn't matter though, because by then I was already hooked.
For as long as I can remember all I wanted to be was an artist. I studied art at school and went on to do an Honours degree at Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee, Scotland. Whilst I was at Dundee I studied printed textiles and enjoyed the physical aspect of creating both artwork and product. However, after graduating I wanted to explore other avenues. I swapped my brush, canvas and paints for a drawing tablet and a computer, and enrolled at Heriot Watt University. There I did a Masters degree in computer aided textile design at a campus that was once known as the Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels, the second oldest textile institution in the world. I loved the flexibility I gained from being able to adjust designs and colours so easily. Honing these skills in such hallowed halls was such an honour.
Following the completion of my Masters, I decided to move back to my home town of Edinburgh and set up my own wee design studio. My business flourished and grew from strength to strength.
Early in 2015 I moved to Manchester, England, to be with my fiancé (now my husband). I rented a studio space in the Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the “Northern Quarter” and stayed there for the next two years. This gave me direct contact with retail customers wanting to purchase my designs. I learned an awful lot from this experience.
I've had the pleasure of working with some really exciting and inspiring clients, beneath is a list of a few of them:
Cranston Print Works
DMC Creative World
Gibson Hanson Graphics
Graham & Brown

HAND CRAFTED GOODS
I produced and sold a small range of my own products, namely art prints, cards, stationery and tableware, during my time in the Manchester Craft and Design Centre. This led me to opening my online shop, which I currently use to sell a small range of design led products. I am hoping to extend the range of goods available through the shop in the not too distant future.
